Analyze Technorati
Jun. 14th, 2007 by ShaunTechnorati basically tracks every single word you publish on your blog. Lets break down technorati’s own blog, Technorati has a Rank of 1,375 (1,919 links from 1,0056 blogs) and below that it says 3,149 links to this URL. So this means:
-Rank 1,375:the number of blogs, plus one, that have more than 1,005 blogs linking to them
-1,919 links: the number of links pointing at this URL in the last 180 days
-1,005 blogs: the number of distinct blogs pointing at this URL in the last 180 days
-3,149 links: the total number of links we found pointing at this blog, ever
When looking at the top 100 technorati blogs the technorati rank is decided by the number of blogs that link to your site not the number of backlinks in total. Lets say there was a group of friends that are bloggers who consistently give and recive backlinks from the same blogs, this may get you a few extra backlinks but in terms of improving your technorati ranking this will basically not to much.
Consistently good blogs will continue get ranked higher. When you continue to write good posts and manage hundreds of visitors to your site you will notice your rank to continue climbing that ladder. If you are post irregularly and do not maintain a steady stream of backlinks your technorati rank will slowly disappear after a while and you will notice a sudden drop in your technorati rank. Keep making those quality posts to keep those backlinks up and you will always continue to see an increase in backlinks, technorati rank and traffic.

It is coming up to a month now since I started blogging and I certainly have loved using Technorati. I find it easy to keep an eye on things related to my site.
Its almost addictive in nature. I was constantly checking my results so finally I added the ranking to my site to prevent me from having to waste time all the time……

Technorati is in decline as a traffic provider. The only way to egt and maintain good listings is long tail keywords, but they get little traffic.
Also everything is nofollow and you dont get any back link credit off of the links to help you in other search engines.
