Free Web Service for Live Bloging

This looks very interesting - CoverItLive, a free web service that enables you to live blog an event using a full range of rich media content: text, audio, video, images, etc, that you can embed into your own site.
You can then save the whole live blog so you’ll have a record of everything that happened during the event.
An immediate thought is what a useful tool to live blog from a conference (for instance). But I wonder what conference organizers and conference goers will think of that.
Some people have very strong opinions against such activity. Some in the media say that live blogging events is not a good thing.
On the other hand, some believe it is a good thing and is here to stay so get used to it.
My view: live blogging is a great idea but if you do it at a public event like a conference, you’d better first ask for permission from not only the organizer but also from the presenter if you’re planning to live blog someone’s presentation or discussion.
I could actually see live blogging becoming staple parts of conferences where a live blogger pays for the opportunity. So an interesting opportunity for a conference organizer to monetize conference blogging as it becomes mainstream.
I could also see this being extremely useful for internal communication -live blogging company events or departmental workshops, for instance. Lots of interesting possibilities.

I know Profootballtalk.com has been using it for its live game blogs and they’re really fun to read. I had ‘em open yesterday and it was nice - much better than constantly refreshing the screen.
