Increase Blog Traffic - Part 4 - Stumble Any Incoming Links
Aug. 20th, 2007 by ShaunThis is part 4 out of a 5 part series I have been working on. Just in case you missed the other three articles on traffic building tips you can check them out here, here and here.
Once you have an established blog I think it’s safe to say that you will start to see some incoming links from other blogs over the course of your blogging lifespan. A trick to get more traffic to your site is to simply click the old thumbs on your StumbleUpon toolbar for the site that just linked to you.
Lets say site A links to site B. Site B notices the link, site B visits site A. Site B, out of appreciation, submits site A’s article with site B’s link on it to StumbleUpon to drive traffic to site A. Assuming site A gets some extra traffic from SU this results in more clicks to site B and everyone is happy!
It’s not rocket science but you put yourself in a win win situation. Hopefully the site that linked to you notices you stumbled their article and they will most greatly appreciate it. Leaving a comment on the post that linked to you also lets the author know you are thankful.
Being nice in the blogging world will go a long way, authors of blogs really appreciate return favors and this is an excellent way to build a relationship with other bloggers and get more traffic to your site.

One of your best tips so far. I like to call this 3-way traffic building

Yeah, I have been using SU, and it’s one of my favorite traffic sources
The best is, you Stumble others’ posts and your posts will also get stumbled in return. I have tried this, and bloggers really like this way. It makes everyone happy

For some reason SU is always giving me problems like not letting me submit anything. I’d love to know why.

Good tips! I set aside a few moments daily to stumble articles. When I feature people on my website I’ve stumbled their article. I’ve met lots of new people simple by stumbling something they’ve written.

Great Post Shaun. Well ya know I agree with you on it…
I also agree that it’s a good idea to set aside a certain amount of time each day to go visiting and submitting posts that you enjoy to the social bookmarking sites.

This site is really a stroll-by means of for the entire data you wanted about this and didn’t know who to ask. Glimpse right here, and also you’ll positively discover it.

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?

Hello there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance. I must say that you’ve done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!
